Northside Summer Market & Solidarity Saturday

Northside Summer Market is a neighborhood-wide yard sale that runs concurrently with the Route 127 World's Longest Yard Sale. This year's event will take place on Saturday, August 8th from 9am - 2pm. As in year's past, our central location will take place at CAIN on Hamilton Avenue.

BUT, in addition to having maps and sales at the central location Poverty Liberation Collective and Third Way Peace Fellowship will be hosting a special collaborative Solidarity Saturday including their Repair Fair at Annette's House (4234 Hamilton, Ave. 45223).

The Northside Repair Fair is a free, community-powered event where neighbors come together to learn practical skills and care for what we already have. Held as part of our Solidarity Saturday series, this collaborative event invites neighbors to work alongside volunteer Repair Coaches, sharing knowledge and building confidence through hands-on repair.

The day also includes a free meal from Third Way Peace Fellowship, an accessible indoor cooling and rest area, Spanish interpretation, and Deaf- and disability-friendly accommodations. Happening alongside the World's Longest Yard Sale and Northside Summer Market, the Northside Repair Fair is a day deeply rooted in mutual aid. 

Remember, this isn't just about fixing things! It's about resisting systems that tell us everything is disposable. Together, we're choosing repair over replacement.

Bringing an Item to Repair?

Please note the following guidelines:

• Repairs are not guaranteed. Volunteer Repair Coaches have different skills and will choose repairs based on their experience and comfort level. They may decline or discontinue a repair if necessary.
• Each participant may bring clean, portable items that can be easily carried or rolled into the event. Our goal is for everyone to get one item repaired, but additional repairs may be available if time allows.
• Please wash clothing and clean all items before bringing them. We cannot accept items that are dirty, leaking, hazardous, or have strong odors.
• We cannot repair:
• Gas-powered equipment
• Vehicles
• Weapons
• Hazardous items
• Resizing of clothing or tailoring. Basic hemming and mending is included.
• Repair learners are expected to stay with their item and actively participate in the repair process so they can learn alongside the Repair Coach.
• If you already know which replacement part is needed, please purchase it ahead of time and bring it with you.
• Repairs requiring more than approximately 30 minutes may need to be postponed so we can help as many neighbors as possible.
